Whatever Program

Summer Work Experience & Adventure Program

The Summer Work Experience & Adventure Program is a unique opportunity for West Vancouver youth ages 15-18. Offered at Ambleside Youth Centre (AYC), the program provides youth with employment training and a paid work placement for the participants, as much as possible in a setting consistent with your interests and/or career choices. You do not need to be job-ready to apply, as the focus of the program is on pre-employment training, opportunity, and direct work placement for development and growth.

We work together with local North Shore businesses to provide a positive first work experience for youth and convey a realistic healthy message to our young people about responsibility, relationships, and rewards. We also work with many local service providers and other community leaders to expose the participants to a range of workshops and training that will assist them in gaining the confidence and knowledge they need to enter the workforce.
